Paracheirodon axelrodi
A deeper, fuller red than the neon tetra — the red stripe runs the full length of the body. A school of cardinals over green plants is hard to beat. Keep eight or more in a mature, planted tank. Soft, slightly acidic water at 24–29 °C. Sample photo: “Cardinal Paracheirodon axelrodi (1)” by CHUCAO, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons.
